Being an overseas worker

In 1993, my first journey as an overseas worker, and to new to everything, language , culture, food and traits. A miles away from home,

Fiji Islands in the South Pacific

Am not aware of how many hours we had travel, i just remembered that we left the Philippines at about 6 pm PH times, and arrives in Nauru  early morning, i was 25 years old that time, and from Nauro to Fiji Islands  at 12 noon,

7 days in Nauru

Upon arriving Fiji Island on the same day

But thers something happened that we never imagines,

"we are not allowed  to go down from the plane,

But why?????

Oh my God, 🤔 what is happening, after an hour ,  the plane is leaving again, ..........

With 7 of us, oh my God

So later they told us , that we are denied by the immigration, because we only have a tourist visa, instead of working visa, so air Nauru, will take care of us until our employer will acknowledge us and pay for our entry in Fiji,

This is the reason why we stay in Nauru for 7 days,

Take note before accepting any contract abroad

1. Make sure your about your visa

If you have a tourist visa , while you sign a contract, ask your agency , because there are some county that are not accepting overseas workers , thats why some company who wants to hire from overseas, they use tourist visa, upon arriving in the country later, they will apply immediately for working visa

2. Check the ligitimacy of your agency

Some agency are fake or bugos, or else after you pay them, they will run away with your hard earned money, that some , sell their property just to work abroad

Days in Nauru

Some Filipino took us, after we arrive in Nauro

Nauro is just a small island , but they are rich in Phosphate

It is the smallest island nation

So to make the story short, or some of it i dont remember already, 🤗🤗🤗

One day our employer contacted us, well finally, because our family didn't know what was happening to us,

Or they are thinking that we already working and earning money to send to them , sadly, thats really 😅

We are happy that we will finally reach our distinction, we had crying, the whole time, we were stranded there, although, Filipino family were taking care of our food and shelter, we are worried what will happen to us, if we stay longer than that,

4 hours flight from Nauru to Fiji, we are relieved,

That was , a memorable journey to FIJI Islands

Sugar Festival

A traditional wedding of the Fijians

Thank you for the time 🙂🙂🙂🙂
