Fiji

Country in Oceania

Description

Fiji, a country in the South Pacific, is an archipelago of more than 300 islands. It's famed for rugged landscapes, palm-lined beaches and coral reefs with clear lagoons. Its major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, contain most of the population. Viti Levu is home to the capital, Suva,

We had arrived at NADI airport and fetched by a company driver

Vula FIJI as a welcome expression to the tourist,
From the airport, we are brought to Lautoka, were the company was located,
We are met by manager of the company for briefing
Greeted as like this:
"How was your holiday in NAURU?"

So they think that we had just have fun in Nauru, when in fact, we are not sure if they will recognize us, or the worse is, being deported back to the country,
So , be it
At least, we already there to work, and do our duty as a contract workers from the other side of the world🤔🤔

Like, its already 6pm in Fiji ,
While its 12 noon in our country of origin Philippine

New to everything ,
New environment
New co-workers

There are different nationalities in the company,
Chinese  our bosses from Singapore
                Another workers from mainland                    China
And we Filipino
Who works as a supervisors, line leaders,. mechanic, seamstress

Indians. A native in Fiji
Fijians

Different cultures
A first time miles away from from and family, living alone, independent
Everything is new to me,
But being a bread winner in the family, i have to work hard to earn and send back money to my family
All i have is myself,
And the Family in the Philippines keep asking money, as if everyday is a payday

Well , life in FIJI is not that bad anyway
Fijians are very friendly, like Filipino, very hospitable,

Although we have a contract in the company we worked, we are free to go anywhere, as long as , job first is our priority,
Fiji , like Philippines is a tropical country,
They are known in their beautiful beaches, like the Blue Lagoon, where Brooke Shields shoots a movie,
And take note, our hostil was also named after that, blue lagoon hostil

We are two months working in the company when it was  burn down, fortunately, they have the old building, where we can do our work, so even in crisis, we re still working

Fiji has a lot of beautiful beaches, a warm charming people, they speaks very good in enlish with a british accents

White sand beaches, lagoons, clear water  Fiji is like untamed paradise,

I will never forget, when our company brought us in beachcomber, it was a small island, sorounded by white sand, thats a wonderful experience

Beachcomber is just a small island, sorrounded by white sand, the clear is like a mirror, that you can see all the maine life, such as, fish, the weeds and the corals, that are ideal for snorkelling,

The boat with glass floor, wil gives you the feeling that you are just floating, its my first time to see that, thats why i was really amazed, or it is really amazing

So ive experienced being away from family being independent is really great, aside from asking money from time to time, as if im a cash machine, did they miss me? Maybe not, what important to them is i can them money, that is very sad,

Homesickness?

No more, from the tme being, i enjoy my life away from everything, but not the bad side , no vices, we go disco, with our supeevisors every friday, and on sunday, enjoying the beach

Our company gives us freedom as if we are really a tourist, but we have to comply with the companys regulations, ,  if we need to do overnight, for shipment, we do,

I finish my 2 year contract as an overseas worker ing Fiji

With full of good memories ,. Having friends with all the people ive meet, Fijians, Indians, Chinese and more,

It is such a pleasure to have them , although we have lives to live,

**photos are to keep that til this time , after 30 years , its still there, ***

Its time to leave Fiji that full of memories to treasure, the food, are almost the same as what we have in the Phillipines,

Although mostly Filipinos , only exited from Fiji and comeback again, i didnt do it, because my mother want me to go home,

And , we are in Nauru again, before we proceed to the Pour journey back home

It was a very different from 2 years ago,

If you ask me if i want to go back to Fiji

My answer is definitely a big YES
